It was assigned to Janassidae by Jordan (1963); to Petalodontida by Zangerl (1981) and Sepkoski (2002); and to Petalodontidae by Woodward (1889), Hay (1902), Lund (1983), Lund (1989) and Ginter et al. (2010).
