Wutucoryphodon dabuensis
Taxonomy
Coryphodon dabuensis was named by Zhai (1978). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Dabu, Shisanjianfang, Turpan basin, which is in a Paleocene terrestrial sandstone/sandstone in the Dabu Formation of China.
It was recombined as Wutucoryphodon dabuensis by Tong and Wang (2006).

Zhai 1978 | The protocone of the third upper molar is not completely connected to the protoloph; the outer border of the metaloph is anterior inclined antero-lingual and rectangularly connected to the protoloph. The diastema after the lower canine is small, no diastema after the first lower premolar. The proto- and metaloph of the lower molars are V-shapedly connected. The hind metastylid of the second and third lower molars are relicts. Talonid of the third lower molar is long, with three distinctive cusps. The entoconid is conical, close to the hypoconulid; both cusps are high and in some distance to the hypoconid. |
