Taxonomy
Adelpharctos ginsburgi was named by de Bonis (2011). Its type specimen is PFRA 34, a partial skull (Mandible and maxilla), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Pech du Fraysse, which is in a MP 28 terrestrial horizon in France.
