Taxonomy
Glamys umbriae was named by Freudenthal (2004). Its type specimen is UMB1B 9,, a tooth, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Fuente Umbría 1B, which is in a MP 20 terrestrial marl in the Villarrosano Formation of Spain.
