Taxonomy
Balatronis cretacea was named by Šmídová and Lei (2017). Its type specimen is NIGP 164780, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Burmese amber, Kachin amber (NIGP collection), which is in a Cenomanian terrestrial amber in Myanmar. It is the type species of Balatronis.
