Taxonomy
Ictinogomphus hassleri was named by Schädel and Lechner (2017). Its type specimen is LMK-Pal-2016-5538, a hindwing, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Schaßbach (Hassler collection), which is in a Badenian lacustrine - large mudstone in the Mühldorf Formation of Austria.
