Dissacus rougierae

Taxonomy
Dissacus rougierae was named by Solé et al. (2018). Its type specimen is UM/PAT18, a mandible (left mandible bearing p2 to m3 and alveolus for p1.), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Palette, which is in a Ypresian fluvial-lacustrine horizon in France.

F. Solé et al. 2018Small European species, which differs from D. europaeus by a reduction of the talonid of p2, more crowded molars, more developed postcristid on p4 and lower molars, more exodaenodont molars, more distal protocone on P3, more mesially located apex of the protocone of M1 and M2, less developed lingual cingula but more developed labial cingulum on molars, paracone and metacone slightly more separated, reduction of the metacone on M2, and reduction of the M3/m3. The species differs from D. raslanloubatieri, D. filholi, D. blayaci, and D. progressus by its smaller size, narrower talonid, slightly less developed entoconid on p4 and the molars, and less developed exodaenodonty.
