Otekaikea huata
Taxonomy
Otekaikea huata was named by Tanaka and Fordyce (2015). Its type specimen is OU 22306, a partial skeleton (skull, right periotic and sigmoid process of left bulla, fused mandibles, 60 isolated conical-crowned teeth, atlas, axis, three other cervical vertebrae, 12 tho), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Haughs Quarry (I40/f0291B), which is in a Waitakian offshore shelf lime mudstone in the Otekaike Limestone Formation of New Zealand.
