It was assigned to Pycnodontes by Thurmond and Jones (1981), Case and Schwimmer (1988), Nursall (1996); to Pycnodontidae by Woodward (1895), Kriwet (1999), Poyato-Ariza and Wenz (2002), Shimada (2006), Bice and Shimada (2016); and to Pycnodontiformes by Sepkoski (2002), Suarez et al. (2021).
It was assigned to Pycnodontes by Thurmond and Jones (1981), Case and Schwimmer (1988), Nursall (1996); to Pycnodontidae by Woodward (1895), Kriwet (1999), Poyato-Ariza and Wenz (2002), Shimada (2006), Bice and Shimada (2016); and to Pycnodontiformes by Sepkoski (2002), Suarez et al. (2021).
