Taxonomy
Rhagonycha micans was named by Piton (1939). Its type specimen is Col Piton 1023, an elytra, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Lac Chambon (Piton coll), which is in a Gelasian crater lake diatomite/volcaniclastic in France.
