Taxonomy
Pozomys ucayaliensis was named by Boivin et al. (2017). Its type specimen is MUSM 2833, a tooth, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is CTA-29, which is in a Rupelian/Chattian fluvial horizon in the Pozo Formation of Peru. It is the type species of Pozomys.
