Taxonomy
Merycobunodon walshi was named by Murphey and Kelly (2017). Its type specimen is UCM 67888, a tooth (right M1 or M2), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Donna's Locality, which is in an Uintan terrestrial claystone in the Bridger Formation of Wyoming.
