Taxonomy
Tripterophycis immutatus was named by Schwarzhans (1980). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Waihao River, near McCullough's Bridge, which is in a Kaiatan marine sandstone in the Waihao Greensand Formation of New Zealand.
