Terebratula harmeri was named by Bell (1921). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Waldringfield, Suffolk (Wood collection), which is in a Gelasian coastal siliciclastic in the Red Crag Formation of the United Kingdom.
It was recombined as Pliothyrina harmeri by Cooper (1983).
