Taxonomy
Soomylacris northi was named by Bolton (1930). Its type specimen is NHM 27,117 G 35, a tegmen, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Mountain Colliery, Gorseinon (Five-Feet Seam), which is in a Westphalian D delta plain shale in the United Kingdom.
It was recombined as Orthomylacris northi by Jarzembowski and Schneider (2007).
