Taxonomy
Lichas simplex was named by Barrande (1846). Its type specimen is NMP L11413, a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Dicranogmus simplex by Warburg (1925); it was recombined as Richterarges simplex by Thomas and Holloway (1988); it was recombined as Borealarges simplex by Adrain (2003).
