Taxonomy
Geragnostus (Novoagnostus) contractus was named by Zhou et al. (2014). Its type specimen is NIGP 155044, a pygidium, and it is a mold. Its type locality is Collection NJ371, Dawangou, northwestern Tarim Basin, which is in a Sandbian basinal (siliciclastic) mudstone/lime mudstone in the Saergan Formation of China.
