Nemapalpus scheveni was named by Wagner (2006). It is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Dominican amber (Scheven coll), which is in a Burdigalian/Langhian terrestrial amber in the Dominican Republic.
It was recombined as Boreofairchildia scheveni by Wagner and Stuckenberg (2016) and Wagner (2017).
