Taxonomy
Propecymatophlebia magnifica was named by Huang et al. (2017). Its type specimen is NIGP 165285, a forewing, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Daohugou (NIGP collection), which is in a Callovian/Oxfordian lacustrine - large shale in the Daohugou Formation of China. It is the type species of Propecymatophlebia.
