Taxonomy
Bathyurus amplimarginatus was named by Billings (1859). Its type specimen is GSC 517 (lectotype), a pygidium, and it is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Peltabellia amplimarginata by Shaw and Bolton (2011); it was recombined as Chapmanopyge amplimarginiata by Billings (1859), Fortey and Bruton (2013).
