Vernooijia sassoonae
Taxonomy
Vernooijia sassoonae was named by Prokop et al. (2018). Its type specimen is NHMUK II.3092, a hindwing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Writhlington Geological Nature Reserve (NHMUK collection), which is in a Westphalian D delta plain shale in the Farrington Formation of the United Kingdom. It is the type species of Vernooijia.
