Taxonomy
Phanerogramma australis was named by Kelly et al. (2018). Its type specimen is NHMUK In.35044, a tegmen, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Denmark Hill Insect Bed (Dunstan NHMUK collection), which is in a Norian pond siltstone in the Blackstone Formation of Australia.
