Neovison macrodon (sea mink)

Taxonomy
Lutreola macrodon was named by Prentiss (1903). Its type specimen is USNM 116178, a partial skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Brooklin, which is in a Holocene coastal horizon in Maine.

It was recombined as Mustela macrodon by Miller (1912), Hollister (1913), Miller (1924), Hay (1930), Hall (1936), Waters and Ray (1961), Kurten and Anderson (1980), Hall (1981), Mead et al. (2000); it was recombined as Neovison macrodon by Sealfon (2007).
