Taxonomy
Scolopax alba was named by Linnaeus (1758). It is extant.

It was recombined as Guara alba by Wetmore (1931), Wetmore (1940); it was recombined as Eudocimus albus by Wetmore (1956), Olson (1981), Olson and Hilgartner (1982), Morgan (1994), del Hoyo et al. (2014), Kilmer and Steadman (2016), Clements et al. (2017).
