Necropsittacus rodricanus (Rodrigues parrot)
Taxonomy
Psittacus rodricanus was named by Milne-Edwards (1867). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Plaine Corail, Rodrigues (Jenner collection), which is in a Holocene cave siltstone in Mauritius.
It was recombined as Necropsittacus rodricanus by Milne-Edwards (1874), Günther and Newton (1879), Lambrecht (1933), Hume (2007) and del Hoyo et al. (2014).
