Otus mauli (Madeiran scops owl)
Taxonomy
Otus mauli was named by Rando et al. (2012). Its type specimen is MMF 41628, a set of limb elements (right tarsometatarsus), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Ponta de São Lourenço, which is in a Pleistocene/Holocene eolian sandstone in Portugal.
