Taxonomy
Brachypteracias langrandi was named by Goodman (2000). Its type specimen is AMNH 20842, a limb element (right humerus), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Locality II, SW of Ampoza, which is in a Holocene terrestrial horizon in Madagascar.
