Discussion

Type locality is not explicitly specified by Qi (1987), but the field number 77036-H5 is cited as occurring in the Arshanto Formation in the Huhe Bulak section of Qi (1987: pp. 5-8). Meng et al. (2007, p. 3) note that the precise geographical location of this section is unknown, but it must be the same or very near the Huheboerhe section of the latter authors.

Taxonomy
Sinosinopa sinensis was named by Qi (1987). Its type specimen is IVPP V5677, a partial skull (incomplete skull and associated dentary), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Huheboerhe (lower Arshanto), which is in an Eocene terrestrial horizon in the Arshanto Formation of China. It is the type species of Sinosinopa.
