Taxonomy
Parantidorcas latifrons was named by Arambourg (1979). Its type specimen is No. 1953-22:128, a partial skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Aïn Boucherit, which is in a Pleistocene terrestrial horizon in Algeria.
