Taxonomy
Dorytomus vulcanicus was named by Wickham (1912). It is an impression. Its type locality is Florissant, Station 17, which is in a Chadronian lacustrine - large shale in the Florissant Formation of Colorado.
It was recombined as Centrinus vulcanicus by Wickham (1913) and Legalov (2015); it was recombined as Geraeus vulcanicus by Legalov (2018).
