Taxonomy
Leucokephalos maior was named by Kramarz et al. (2015). Its type specimen is MOZ-PV 969, a mandible (partial left mandible with i, p4–m2), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Barda Negra 1, which is in a Colhuehuapian fluvial volcaniclastic in the Cerro Bandera Formation of Argentina.
