Rusconitherium mendocense
Taxonomy
Trachytherus mendocensis was named by Simpson and Minoprio (1949). Its type specimen is MCNAM (ex-MHNM) 2494, a set of teeth (right P2-3, M1, part of M2; left P2-M1), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Divisadero Largo (Mariño), which is in a Santacrucian terrestrial sandstone in the Mariño Formation of Argentina. It is the type species of Rusconitherium.
It was recombined as Rusconitherium mendocense by Cerdeño et al. (2018).
