Protozetamys mixtecus
Taxonomy
Protozetamys mixtecus was named by Ferrusquia-Villafranca et al. (2018). Its type specimen is IGM-4912, a mandible (right mandibular fragment with m1–m3), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is 1.94km ENE of Santiago Yolomécatl, which is in a Bartonian fluvial-lacustrine horizon in the Yolomécatl Formation of Mexico. It is the type species of Protozetamys.
