Taxonomy
Irtyshogaulus major was named by Lu et al. (2016). Its type specimen is IVPP V 20809, a tooth (right M1/), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is IVPP Loc. XJ200604, which is in a Shanwangian fluvial sandstone in China.
