Nesodon taweretus
Taxonomy
Nesodon taweretus was named by Forasiepi et al. (2015). Its type specimen is MHNSR-PV 1004, a skull (mostly complete skull with right M1–M3 badly preserved and remains of the left molars. Alveoli of the remaining teeth are preserved, but the area of I1 is damag), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Arroyo Seco de la Frazada (Lower Section), which is in a Colhuehuapian terrestrial sandstone in the Aisol Formation of Argentina.
