Taxonomy
Clementia inequalis was named by Wiedey (1928). Its type specimen is SDSNH 34, a valve, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is LSJU loc. 406, South Mountain, which is in a Miocene coastal sandstone in the Vaqueros Formation of California.
