Taxonomy
Selvamys paulus was named by Boivin et al. (2018). Its type specimen is MUSM 2960, a tooth (Right M2), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Shapaja (TAR-22), which is in an Oligocene floodplain conglomerate in the Pozo Formation of Peru. It is the type species of Selvamys.
