Taxonomy
Pleurophorus zealandicus was named by Trechmann (1917). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Otamita Stream (Bed "C"), which is in a Carnian marine shale in New Zealand. It is the type species of Triaphorus.
It was recombined as Triaphorus zealandicus by Marwick (1953).
