Taxonomy
Sphaerioides was named by Yu and Zhang (1982). It is not extant. Its type is Tetoria yixianensis.

It was assigned to Pisidiidae by Yu and Zhang (1982); and to Neomiodontidae by Gu et al. (1997), Gu (1998), Fang et al. (2009).
