Elektrokleinia was named by Ellenberger and Fanti (2019). Its type is Elektrokleinia picta.

It was assigned to Cantharidae by Hsiao et al. (2021); and to Cantharini by Ellenberger and Fanti (2019), Fanti and Damgaard (2020), Fanti and Müller (2022).

Synonyms

Palaeocantharis was named by Hsiao et al. (2021).

It was synonymized subjectively with Elektrokleinia by Fanti and Müller (2022).
