Scarabaeus sabuleti was named by Panzer (1797). It is extant. It is the type species of Psammoporus.
It was recombined as Aegialia sabuleti by Coope et al. (1961); it was recombined as Aegialia (Psammoporus) sabuleti by Stebnicka et al. (2003).
