Taxonomy
Polyalthioxylon parapaniense was named by Bande (1973). It is not extant. Its type specimen is BSIP 36524, a wood. Its type locality is Parapani, which is in a Paleogene fluvial horizon in the Deccan Intertrappean Formation of India.
