Heracles inexpectatus
Taxonomy
Heracles inexpectatus was named by Worthy et al. (2019). Its type specimen is NMNZ S.51083, a limb element (partial left tibiotarsus), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Home Hills Station, which is in an Altonian terrestrial conglomerate in the Bannockburn Formation of New Zealand. It is the type species of Heracles.
