Sanctaspis avemaria

Sanctaspis avemaria was named by McMenamin (2001) [The specimens were collectedat the Fallotaspis 'localityof Nelson (1976; his Fallotaspis locality #13 on his unpublished map of the area) as sample 2 of 6/16/84.]. Its type specimen is IGM 7457, a cephalon/head, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UCLA loc. 6748, which is in a Montezuman marine horizon in the Campito Formation of California. It is the type species of Sanctaspis.
