Dinocerea was named by Marsh (1872). It is not extant.

It was replaced with Dinocerata by Marsh (1873); it was reranked as the suborder Dinocerea by Hay (1902).

It was assigned to Mammalia by Marsh (1872); and to Amblypoda by Hay (1902).
