Taxonomy
Caspiconcha rubani was named by Kiel et al. (2010). Its type specimen is USNM 535868, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Planerskoje, which is in a Hauterivian basinal (carbonate) limestone in Ukraine.
