Hypohippidium humahuaquense
Taxonomy
Hypohippidium humahuaquense was named by Fernandez de Alvarez (1957). Its type specimen is FCEyN-UBA-3502, a set of limb elements (metapodials, astragali, phalanges), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is right margin of the Quebrada de Humahuaca, which is in a Pliocene terrestrial sandstone in Argentina.
