Taxonomy
Owadpteron dareki was named by Dvořák et al. (2019). Its type specimen is MP ISEA I-F/MP/1488/26a,b/08, a forewing, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Porąbka-Klimontów mine, Sosnowiec-Klimontów (ISEA collection), which is in a Westphalian A interdistributary bay mudstone in Poland. It is the type species of Owadpteron.
