Taxonomy
Callocardia (Agriopoma) californica was named by Clark (1918). Its type specimen is UCMP 11107 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UCMP loc. 1131, Walnut Creek, which is in an Oligocene marine horizon in California.
It was recombined as Pitaria (Katherinella) californica by Durham (1944).
