Taxonomy
Tragocerus rugosifrons was named by Schlosser (1904). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Fossil collection from Samos Island in the BSPG, which is in a Miocene terrestrial horizon in Greece.

It was recombined as Tragoportax rugosifrons by Kostopoulos (2009).
